Do you still remember from your childhood history lessons where the first road built in Western style in Thailand was? The answer we remember well is Charoen Krung Road. It is the center of prosperity of old Bangkok. There is one road connecting to that area called Sri Wiang Road and Pramuan Road. During the reign of King Rama V, many foreigners lived in Silom and Sathorn. Therefore, houses were designed with Western culture and passed on. Luang Uparakan Niramit (Daeng), an official during the reigns of King Rama V to King Rama VI, lived in a \u201cLang Lang Tuek Din\u201d, a white house that combines Thai and Western styles, similar to the Thai Colonial house of the R.S. 130 era, which is called \u201cBaan Sri Wiang\u201d today. If you search for the meaning of what style of colonial house it is, you will find that Thai Colonial houses are luxurious and classic from the outside to the inside. The exterior details from the roof down to the eaves are fretwork. Looking inside, you will see soft patterns, lines that combine 2 cultures, uniquely adapted to suit the weather of Thailand.
