Sriwiang House (Baan Sriwiang) : A Timeless Architectural Legacy

Sriwiang House is a colonial-style residence built in R.S. 130 (1912), during a pivotal period when Bangkok was transitioning from a water-based transportation system to a modern network of roads. Sriwiang Road emerged as the Bangrak-Silom district was developing into a vibrant commercial center and residential area for foreign communities. The cultural influences of that era were reflected in the architecture, blending Western elegance with the local Thai context and creating the distinctive character of the neighborhood.

Although the surrounding area has transformed into a modern urban landscape filled with high-rise buildings, Sriwiang House remains one of the few surviving colonial residences. It continues to preserve and tell the story of a bygone era, celebrating the architectural heritage and history of Bangkok for generations to come.
